No Rest for the Wicked Console Release: PS5 in March 2027

Console status at a glance

Platform	Announced timing	What this means for players
PlayStation 5	March 2027	A launch month, not an exact day or unlock time
Xbox Series X/S	TBD	No date to plan a purchase around yet
Nintendo Switch 2	TBD	Do not apply the PS5 window to this version
PC / Steam	Early Access now; 1.0 in March 2027	Existing PC availability is not console availability

This table combines the June platform announcement with the September 1 delay update, checked September 3, 2026. The old October 2026 window has been superseded. It does not establish PS4, Xbox One, or original Switch versions. For the difference between the PC Early Access release and the full release, see the release timeline.

What PS5 players can rely on

PS5 is the first confirmed console version and shares the announced 1.0 month with PC. Moon Studios also announces crossplay and cross-save between PC and console for launch. That announcement does not settle regional prices, account setup, online subscription requirements or performance modes. The PS5 buying and feature checklist focuses on those platform-specific questions.

Xbox and Switch 2 remain undated

A listed platform with a TBD date is not the same as current availability. A future Xbox release also does not confirm a subscription launch: see the separate Game Pass status. Nintendo Switch 2 performance, physical edition details, and feature parity are not detailed in the cited launch announcement.

Before planning a console purchase

Check three separate things: whether your exact console is listed, whether a date has been announced for that console, and whether the store offer is a game purchase rather than a wishlist entry. A trailer mentioning consoles does not answer all three.

Multiplayer labels also need care. Crossplay concerns players on different platforms; it does not mean two controllers can share one console. Read the couch co-op explanation if you are buying for local play.

Players should rely on a platform store or Moon Studios announcement before buying for a particular console. A Steam license should not be expected to transfer automatically, and cross-save should not be interpreted as shared ownership across stores.
